One Year In Norfolk

9/19/2016 (Permalink)

It has now been a little over two years since we announced that SERVPRO of Portsmouth had purchased the franchise rights for SERVPRO of Norfolk West. In this past year we have grown quite a bit and become a lot more integrated into the fabric of Hampton Roads. We just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped us get to where we are now as we look forward to becoming even a bigger part of the community.

As you know, we have always serviced all areas of Hampton Roads and beyond. This new acquisition has definitely helped us to better serve your needs, not just in Norfolk and Portsmouth, but all throughout the area. As your local restoration company, we now have faster response times than ever before and we have been able to handle losses of any size. Our office is currently located in a spot that is ideal for servicing both Norfolk and Portsmouth. In addition, we have plans to open a new location in Norfolk in the future.

As always, we are available 24/7. If there is anything that we can help you with, no matter the time of day, please feel free to give us a call. Thank you for your business and we look forward to working with you more in the future.

Snakes on a Job

General Snakes on a Job Richard posing with the snake.

While checking out water damage in a crawlspace, our technician noticed something else that was causing quite a bit of damage. There was extensive termite damage under the house. As our technician soon found out, these termites weren’t the only critters down there. Buried in the insulation under the house there was a six foot black rat snake.

At SERVPRO of Portsmouth, our technicians are trained to deal with the unexpected. They have to deal with surprise leaks, asbestos, mold, and even snakes. Some of these developments are certainly more common than others.

The technician was able to get the snake out of the crawlspace unharmed. The snake was not happy about the car ride but he was taken to a farm with a mouse problem. He will have plenty of room to roam around and plenty of mice to eat. The homeowner also has a happy ending. Not only is his crawlspace repaired, it is also snake free!
